The Prophetic Connection Between Torah, the Testimony of Yahusha, and the War Against Obedience
TRP Biblical Studies™ | Study Domain II: Covenant, Torah, and Righteous Living | Torah, Grace & Obedience Series™ Study 01
Author: King Titius Justus™ (KTJ)
“And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of Elohim, and have the testimony of Yahusha Ha-Mashiach.”
— Revelation 12:17, adapted from the KJV
Study note: Scripture quotations preserve KJV wording. Yahuah and Yahusha are used in the commentary according to TRP Biblical Studies™ terminology. Historical linguistic evidence, reconstructed pronunciation, transliteration conventions, and theological conclusions are distinguished throughout.

🔥 THINK ABOUT THIS
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
If Yahuah’s commandments were abolished, why does the dragon make war against those who keep them?
Why does Revelation identify the faithful remnant by two inseparable characteristics?
-
They keep the commandments of Yahuah.
-
They have the testimony of Yahusha Ha-Mashiach.
The prophetic text does not describe a remnant that chooses Yahusha instead of Yahuah’s commandments. Neither does it describe people attempting to earn salvation through their own works.
It describes a people whose faith in Yahusha produces allegiance to the Father.
They possess both:
The commandments of Yahuah and the testimony of Yahusha.
That is not legalism.
That is covenant faithfulness.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
📜 WHAT REVELATION ACTUALLY SAYS
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Revelation 12:17 is not an isolated statement. The same identifying pattern appears again:
“Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of Elohim, and the faith of Yahusha.”
— Revelation 14:12, adapted from the KJV
Notice what Scripture does not say.
It does not say:
- Here are they who reject the commandments because they have grace.
- Here are they who believe obedience is bondage.
- Here are they who profess Yahusha while disregarding the Father’s instructions.
- Here are they who use faith as permission to continue in lawlessness.
Instead, the saints are identified by obedient faith.
They keep Yahuah’s commandments, and they remain faithful to Yahusha.
The dragon is not threatened by empty religious confession. He is not troubled by a faith that never changes conduct. He opposes the people whose testimony and obedience expose his rebellion.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
🐉 THE DRAGON’S WAR IS A WAR AGAINST YAHUAH’S AUTHORITY
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
From the beginning, the adversary’s strategy has been to challenge the authority of Yahuah’s Word.
In Eden, the serpent asked:
“Yea, hath Elohim said…?”
— Genesis 3:1, adapted from the KJV
The first recorded temptation did not begin with an open declaration that Yahuah did not exist. It began by questioning what He had commanded.
The serpent then contradicted Yahuah directly:
“Ye shall not surely die.”
— Genesis 3:4, KJV
The pattern remains recognizable:
- Question the commandment.
- Minimize the consequence of disobedience.
- Present rebellion as freedom.
- convince humanity that Yahuah’s instruction can be disregarded without judgment.
The enemy does not need people to stop speaking about the Creator if he can persuade them to reject the Creator’s authority. Neither does he need them to deny Yahusha openly if he can separate their confession of Yahusha from the life Yahusha commanded them to live.
A Messiah disconnected from obedience becomes a religious symbol rather than a reigning King.
But Yahusha is not merely a symbol.
He is Master and King.

👑 YAHUSHA DID NOT COME TO DESTROY THE LAW
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Yahusha addressed this matter plainly:
“Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.”
— Matthew 5:17, KJV
He continued:
“For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.”
— Matthew 5:18, KJV
Then He issued a warning:
“Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven.”
— Matthew 5:19, KJV
Yahusha did not teach His disciples to despise the commandments. He warned against breaking them and teaching others to do the same.
To fulfil the Law does not mean to destroy it. Yahusha fulfilled the Law by walking it perfectly, revealing its true intent, accomplishing what was written concerning Him, and bringing its sacrificial and prophetic shadows to their intended purpose.
Fulfillment is not the same as abolition.
A prophecy can be fulfilled without making all prophetic Scripture worthless. Likewise, Yahusha’s perfect obedience does not transform disobedience into righteousness.

⚖️ GRACE DOES NOT MAKE SIN RIGHTEOUS
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
What is sin?
Scripture answers:
“Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.”
— 1 John 3:4, KJV
If sin is transgression of the Law, what happens when the Law is supposedly abolished?
The definition of sin is emptied of meaning.
How can anyone preach repentance while teaching that the standard revealing sin has been eliminated? Repentance means turning away from sin—but Scripture identifies sin through Yahuah’s Law.
Paul explained:
“For by the law is the knowledge of sin.”
— Romans 3:20, KJV
He then asked:
“Do we then make void the law through faith? Elohim forbid: yea, we establish the law.”
— Romans 3:31, adapted from the KJV
Faith does not make the Law void.
Grace does not turn rebellion into obedience.
Forgiveness does not redefine sin so that nothing must change.
The purpose of grace is not to protect us from having to obey Yahuah. Grace rescues us from sin’s guilt and dominion so that we may become a people zealous for good works.
“For the grace of Elohim that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying wickedness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and reverently, in this present world.”
— Titus 2:11–12, adapted from the KJV
Biblical grace teaches us to deny wickedness.
A message that excuses continued rebellion is not the grace described in Scripture.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
🩸 WE ARE SAVED BY GRACE—NOT BY OUR OWN MERIT
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Let the distinction be clear:
We do not earn redemption by keeping commandments.
We cannot erase our past sins through future obedience. We cannot purchase the blood of Yahusha through human effort. We cannot boast that our works made us worthy of salvation.
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of Elohim: not of works, lest any man should boast.”
— Ephesians 2:8–9, adapted from the KJV
But the passage does not end with verse 9:
“For we are his workmanship, created in Messiah Yahusha unto good works, which Elohim hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”
— Ephesians 2:10, adapted from the KJV
We are not saved by obedience as though obedience were the price of redemption.
We are saved unto a life of obedience.
Works are not the root of salvation; they are its expected fruit.
Grace is the gift. Faith receives the gift. Obedience demonstrates that the faith is living.
“Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.”
— James 2:17, KJV
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
❤️ OBEDIENCE IS THE FRUIT OF LOVE
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Yahusha did not define love as emotion without allegiance.
He said:
“If ye love me, keep my commandments.”
— John 14:15, KJV
John repeated the same truth:
“And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.”
— 1 John 2:3, KJV
He then issued a sobering warning:
“He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.”
— 1 John 2:4, KJV
This does not teach sinless perfection through human strength. Believers may stumble, require correction, and depend continually upon mercy and the advocacy of Yahusha.
But there is a difference between struggling against sin and constructing a doctrine that protects sin from correction.
There is a difference between falling while seeking to walk uprightly and declaring that the path of righteousness no longer matters.
The question is not whether we have ever failed.
The question is whether our hearts agree with Yahuah or resist Him.
“For this is the love of Elohim, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.”
— 1 John 5:3, adapted from the KJV
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
🕊️ THE NEW COVENANT DOES NOT REMOVE THE LAW—IT CHANGES ITS LOCATION
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
The prophets did not describe the New Covenant as a future without Yahuah’s Law. They described Yahuah placing His Law within His people.
“But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith Yahuah, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts.”
— Jeremiah 31:33, adapted from the KJV
Hebrews repeats this promise:
“I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts.”
— Hebrews 8:10, KJV
Under the renewed covenant, the Law is not merely written upon stone and standing outside the person. Yahuah writes His instructions upon the heart and mind through His Spirit.
The covenant administration changes. Yahusha becomes our perfect High Priest and once-for-all sacrifice. The earthly Levitical system and repeated animal offerings cannot provide what His blood accomplished.
But none of this means that idolatry, murder, adultery, theft, dishonoring parents, covetousness, or bearing false witness have become acceptable.
The New Covenant does not erase righteousness.
It produces a transformed people who desire to walk in it.
“And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.”
— Ezekiel 36:27, KJV
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
📖 WHAT ABOUT PAUL’S WARNINGS CONCERNING THE LAW?
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Paul strongly opposed the belief that human beings could be justified by “works of the law.” He rejected reliance upon circumcision, ancestry, ceremonial status, or human performance as the means of earning righteousness before Yahuah.
But Paul did not teach that faith authorizes sin.
“What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? Elohim forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?”
— Romans 6:1–2, adapted from the KJV
Paul called the Law holy:
“Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.”
— Romans 7:12, KJV
The problem was never that Yahuah’s commandments were evil. The problem was sinful flesh, condemnation, misuse of the Law, and the inability of human effort to justify the guilty.
The Law can identify sin, but it cannot shed its blood for us.
The Law can testify that we are guilty, but it cannot serve as our atoning sacrifice.
That is why we need Yahusha.
He did not come to make sin lawful. He came to redeem us from sin and reconcile us to the Father.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
🚫 OBEDIENCE IS NOT LEGALISM
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Legalism is not simply taking Yahuah’s commandments seriously.
Legalism occurs when people:
- Attempt to earn justification through works.
- Treat human traditions as though they were divine commandments.
- Use outward observance to boast over others.
- Demand practices that Yahuah did not command.
- Perform religious works while neglecting justice, mercy, faith, and love.
- Condemn those whom Yahuah has received based upon man-made standards.
Yahusha confronted this kind of religious hypocrisy. He rebuked leaders who elevated their traditions above Yahuah’s commandments:
“Full well ye reject the commandment of Elohim, that ye may keep your own tradition.”
— Mark 7:9, adapted from the KJV
The cure for legalism is not lawlessness.
The cure for corrupted obedience is sincere obedience arising from faith, love, humility, and the Spirit of Yahuah.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
⚔️ WHY DOES THE DRAGON HATE COMMANDMENT KEEPERS?
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
The dragon’s rebellion is against Yahuah’s throne, authority, Kingdom, Word, and people.
Those who keep Yahuah’s commandments testify by their conduct that:
- Yahuah has the right to define good and evil.
- His authority is greater than human tradition.
- His Word remains true.
- Sin is not freedom.
- Grace is not permission to rebel.
- Yahusha is a reigning King whose followers are called to walk as He walked.
“He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.”
— 1 John 2:6, KJV
Commandment-keeping does not threaten the dragon because human beings have made themselves perfect. It threatens his system because genuine obedience declares that his rebellion has no rightful authority over Yahuah’s people.
Every act of faithful obedience announces:
Yahuah is King. His Word is true. His authority remains.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
🔍 THE QUESTION EVERY BELIEVER MUST ANSWER
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
The question is not merely:
“Do I claim to believe in Yahusha?”
The deeper questions are:
Do I receive Him as King?
Do I accept the authority of the Father He obeyed?
Do I desire to walk as He walked?
When Scripture corrects me, do I repent—or search for a doctrine that excuses me?
Yahusha warned:
“Not every one that saith unto me, Master, Master, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.”
— Matthew 7:21, adapted from the KJV
A verbal confession without submission is not the mature faith described in Scripture.
The faithful remnant does not choose between the Father’s commandments and the Son’s testimony.
They hold fast to both.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
👑 THE FINAL WITNESS
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
The commandments cannot save us from the guilt of commandments already broken.
Only the grace of Yahuah, revealed through the atoning work of Yahusha Ha-Mashiach, can redeem the guilty.
But the grace that saves does not leave us devoted to rebellion.
It teaches us.
It corrects us.
It transforms us.
It writes Yahuah’s instructions upon our hearts and produces a people who desire to obey their King.
Therefore, let no one confuse obedience with self-salvation. But let no one use grace to rename disobedience as liberty.
Revelation’s faithful remnant is unmistakable:
They keep the commandments of Yahuah and possess the testimony and faith of Yahusha Ha-Mashiach.
That is why the dragon makes war against them.
Not because the commandments were abolished—
but because a commandment-keeping, Messiah-confessing people stand as a living witness that the authority of Yahuah has never been abolished.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
⚔️ GRACE REDEEMS US. FAITH UNITES US TO YAHUSHA. LOVE MOVES US TO OBEY. ⚔️
“Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.”
— Revelation 22:14, KJV
The faithful do not obey in order to purchase the Kingdom.
They obey because they have surrendered to its King.
